There are requirements for the General Manager to keep a register of backflow prevention devices. Council has in place a system that ensures that these devices are kept in working order whilst they are used. An annual test by an approved technician (plumber) is required to forward to Council the test report undertaken for the backflow device.
The technician undertaking the test carries the responsibility to ensure that once the test is carried out the device is compliant.
Council sends a annual reminder to ensure that the devices are tested on time.
