David Pearce OAM
Personal Background and History
Alderman Pearce was first elected to Council in 1999.
A resident of Glenorchy for almost 30 years, in 2001 Alderman Pearce was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for services to persons with a disability, their families and the community.
Alderman Pearce has a personal and professional background in Human Rights and Ethics, and holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Tasmania majoring in political science and history.
He is an active volunteer, and was Glenorchy Citizen of the Year in 1990.
He is the Immediate Past President of the Glenorchy Lions Club and Advocacy Tasmania, is Vice President of HOPES and is a member of the Northside Anglican Parish Church Council.
