Jenny Branch-Allen

Personal Background and History


Alderman Branch-Allen was first elected to Council in 2007.


A resident of Collinsvale, she is employed part-time as CEO of Kidsafe Tasmania.


She is the Chair of Carers Tasmania, a member of the Minister’s Disability Advisory Council and a member of the President’s Group Carers Australia.


In 2008 she was a Tasmanian representative on the Prime Minister’s 20/20 Summit, and was the National President of the Australian Council of State Schools for three years.


She has received two Awards for Excellence in Education from the State Government, a National award from Kidsafe for significant contribution to childhood injury prevention and prior to being elected to Council was awarded a Glenorchy City Council Volunteering Award for over 10,000 hours of community service.

Alderman Branch-Allen is Council’s representative on the following committees and working groups:

  • City of Glenorchy Australia Day Nominations;
  • Community Road Safety Partnership Program;
  • Glenorchy Arts and Culture Advisory Committee (chair);
  • New Moonah Arts Centre Steering Committee (chair);
  • Glenorchy LEARN Committee;
  • Lawn Bowls Facility Strategy Group; and
  • Southern Waste Strategy Authority (proxy).
