Waste Management Strategy

Council engaged consultants Mike Ritchie & Associates, to prepare Councils Waste Management Strategy  2013 -2023, it was formally adopted by Council in September 2014.

Waste Minimisation
As a member of the Cities for Climate Protection program (CCP), compliance with Environmental Management Systems and ISO 14000 standards, Glenorchy City Council is committed to achieving environmental excellence. Waste Minimisation is a key concern of Glenorchy City Council, and as such Council has put in place a number of strategies and programs designed to encourage the reduction of waste within the community. This section outlines some of the strategies and programs Council has put in place to achieve the aim of reducing the amount of waste throughout the community.
