Glenorchy City is currently working on the development and delivery of a wide range of innovative strategic planning and policy initiatives to enhance its attractiveness to business investment and to improve the appearance of its major activity centres. 

- The Main Road Corridor Master Plan which provides a 20 year vision for integrated land use and transport planning in the three kilometre commercial corridor between Moonah and Glenorchy.

- The Industrial Lands Study which provides a framework for the long term land use planning, development and management of the City's industrial lands.

- An ongoing program of reviewing the planning scheme to reflect emerging policy issues and overcome potential impediments to investment.
