Council Meetings
The Local Government Act 1993 guides the way in which Council meetings are to be called and requires all councils to hold meetings on a regular basis.
In Glenorchy, Ordinary Council Meetings are held every 4 weeks on Monday nights commencing at 6:00pm.
Each fortnight Council's Glenorchy Planning Authority (formerly known as Land Use Planning Committee) meets at 6pm to consider any planning matters and has been given delegated authority from Council to do so.

Attending Council Meetings
Members of the public are welcome to attend and observe these meetings from the public gallery. Meetings are held in the Council Chambers, located on the first floor of the Glenorchy City Council Building 374 Main Road, Glenorchy. The building and chambers provide disabled access.
Exclusion from Council Meetings
The Local Government Act describes a number of situations where the public should/may be excluded from Council meetings while specific items are discussed. The general public may be asked to leave Chambers during discussion of these items.
Copies of Council's Meeting Agenda
The agenda for Council and Land Use Planning Committee Meetings, including the officer's reports and attachments, may be accessed on the Thursday before the meeting at the Council offices, the Glenorchy Library, the Claremont Community library or this website. - Council Agenda.
Copies of Council's Meeting Minutes
Once meeting minutes have been confirmed (usually at the following meeting) they are available via this website free of charge - Council Minutes, or a hardcopy extract, can be obtained from the Council. Charges may apply.
