Glenorchy Youth Task Force
The Glenorchy Youth Task Force (GYTF) is a group of young people aged 12 to 24 who have a passion for youth issues and a desire to make a difference within our community. The groups backgrounds are many and varied, but they believe in the importance of raising youth issues, having a voice, and most importantly having fun while we do it.  Please call 6216-6347 for more information or see our Youth related services information.

Precinct Committees
A precinct is a geographical area located within the boundaries of the City. The Community Precinct Program is a formal structure that allows the community to share in Glenorchy City Council’s decision-making process. They have a Charter, Statement of Purpose and Operating guidelines. Precincts, who are special committees recognised by Council, provide a way for communities to enrich their local neighbourhoods now and into the future. They get the opportunity to work with Council to pass on ideas, concerns and wishes about their local area, and Council can ask Precincts for their views on Council policy and spending proposals etc. They suggest and work on projects and events for their precinct. They meet monthly to discuss issues that relate to their particular precinct or the City as a whole. Community Precincts are ‘Your Voice in Your City’. Please phone 6216 6369 or refer to our consultation service information or liaison service information for further information.

Team Glenorchy
In 1999 Glenorchy City Council undertook an exciting project to find out what its citizens want their city to be like 20 years into the future. Out of this project came the Glenorchy City Community Plan – A Blueprint for the Future.
Recognising that to achieve the vision of its citizens would require a focussed effort by all stakeholders, Glenorchy City Council brought together a group of community leaders with the responsibility for overseeing the Community Plan’s benchmarking and it’s  future development. Thus Team Glenorchy was born.  Please see the Team Glenorchy website for more information.

Safer Communities Program
Glenorchy City Councils Community Safety Program aims to support the operation and development of community consultation processes to identify the priority crime and community Safety issues for the city of Glenorchy and to facilitate the development of a range of strategies and initiatives to respond to the issues.
