Come and discover your local wetland

Have you visited Goulds Lagoon?

It's a haven for birdlife in the Derwent estuary. With over 100 bird species located at the lagoon, it's a great place to get close to nature.

This year we have been working to improve local biodiversity by revegetating a large section of the lagoon bank with over 800 native plants. In the coming months a new footpath is being built along the main road which will improve access and safety for visitors.

Come and experience Goulds Lagoon this Sunday. There is a free Birds of Goulds Lagoon guide for the first 20 people who visit between 9am - 10:30am. See how many species you can spot and chat with Council officers about how you can get involved in helping to protect the lagoon.

Goulds Lagoon can be found off Hestercombe Road, Granton.
