Community Tree Planting at Prince of Wales Bay

Prince of Wales Bay planting

Prince of Wales Bay foreshore

We are inviting residents to help plant some new trees around Price of Wales Bay as part of a project to restore native vegetation along the foreshore.

Over the last few months Council has organised extensive weed removal at the site off Gepp Parade.

With the community’s help, 300 new trees will be planted along the foreshore to stabilise the bank, beautify the area, and improve public access.

Prince of Wales Bay has undergone significant changes over the last 80 years with parts of the original foreshore lost to reclaimed land, and the development of industry.

This planting will go some of the way to restoring some of the original foreshore vegetation.

When: Sun 10 November. Meet at 10am

Where: The foreshore reserve on Gepp Parade behind the softball ground.

Details: Bring along a hat for sun protection, gardening gloves, and a water bottle.
