Following community feedback, we have designs ready to go for the Montrose and Giblins playspaces. Important things identified for both play areas was that they include tactile play elements, such as water and sand play. They also needed to have nature play areas, and climbing areas.
The most important thing in the feedback was that we needed to have a fully Inclusive playspace at Giblins Reserve, which will be the first in Tasmania. Giblins has a nature play zone that will be fully inclusive as well as sensory.
Montrose will have the largest sand and water play zone in the state. Montrose offers a number of different nature play zones, including a forest play zone. It is also expected to have a skatepark design.
Construction of the Giblins playspace is expected to start in March next year.
