Piecing it Together street art project

Piecing it Together is an intergenerational street art project that brings younger and older people together to learn about, design, and create street art.  Participants learn various street art techniques under the guidance of Jamin, a well renowned artist, who has assisted us in our previous PiT projects.

By bringing younger and older people together to better understand one another, Piecing it Together challenges negative stereotypes and encourages community connection. This is a great opportunity to reconnect, turn a dull community space into something that all community can enjoy, and celebrate 2021 as we recover from the impacts of COVID-19.

The Glenorchy project will transform a plain section of Cooper Street in the heart of Glenorchy into a vibrant permanent display of colour and meaning.

A section of Cooper Street, Glenorchy will be transformed into a vibrant street art mural.

How can I get involved?

  • We are seeking local older participants over 60 who would like to participate in this guided art project.
  • We would love to involve and promote local businesses through in kind support this year. If you’re able to donate morning tea, or provide lunch to our participants during the project, please contact Brigid @ COTA Tasmania – brigidw@cotatas.org.au
  • Come along on our painting days and have a look at the participants creating their masterpiece.

If you’d like to be involved, please contact Brigid Wilkinson, COTA Tasmania on 62 313 265 or email brigidw@cotatas.org.au
