The youth groups of Glenorchy, Hobart and Clarence City Councils have combined to present a Youth Week event for 2018.

Youth Week Tasmania (#youthweektas18) is on Friday 13 April – 5-8 pm at The Underground – 7 Elizabeth Street Hobart (across from Franklin Square).

This engaging event gives young people with the opportunity to showcase their talents, skills and acknowledge their positive contributions to the community. This will be evident through the array of performances on the day along with acknowledgements on how young people make our communities so vibrant and diverse. The event will focus on the skills that young people have and celebrates this through the games they play.

Decision makers and the wider community are encouraged to come along and celebrate the contributions of young people to our community.

There will be outdoor games, projected art works, live acoustic music, art exhibition, slam poetry, interactive activities and so much more. There will be giveaways and prizes as well.

Keep visiting our website to watch for expressions of interest if you would like to sing, dance, and showcase your art, if you are a stand-up comedian – we would love to hear from you.Details on how to apply will be coming soon.

There will be a performance workshop held in the week leading up to the event to brush up on your performance skills. Visit the Youth Week Tasmania 2018 Facebook event or contact Glenorchy City Council’s Youth Development Officer Allyson Byrne on 03 6216 6800 or gccmail@gcc.tas.gov.au.
