Council meetings are formal public proceedings conducted in accordance with the Local Government Act 1993 (Tasmania)<\/em> and Council\u2019s meeting procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When meetings are held<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ordinary Council meetings are generally held monthly throughout the year. Meeting dates and schedules are published on the Meeting Dates page. Special Council meetings may also be called when required to consider urgent or specific matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where meetings are held<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Council meetings are generally held in the:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    <\/strong>374 Main Road, Glenorchy TAS 7010<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Meetings are also livestreamed online, allowing community members to watch remotely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    How a meeting runs<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Council meetings follow a structured agenda and formal meeting procedures. During a meeting:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • The Mayor chairs the meeting<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Agenda items are presented and discussed<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Aldermen debate matters before Council<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Motions are voted on by elected members<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Decisions and voting outcomes are recorded in the meeting minutes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Council meetings are conducted in accordance with legislative and governance requirements to support transparent and accountable decision-making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Agendas and minutes<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      Meeting agendas are published on Council\u2019s website before each meeting and outline the items to be considered. Minutes are published following the meeting once they have been confirmed by Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Public participation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      Members of the public are welcome to attend ordinary Council meetings as observers. Community members may also participate in Council processes by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
