{"id":1111,"date":"2026-05-05T16:07:19","date_gmt":"2026-05-05T06:07:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gcc.clients.ionata.com.au\/?page_id=1111"},"modified":"2026-06-06T20:08:27","modified_gmt":"2026-06-06T10:08:27","slug":"petitions","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.gcc.tas.gov.au\/ko\/your-council\/council-meetings\/petitions\/","title":{"rendered":"\uccad\uc6d0"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Paper or electronic?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Petitions can be collected on paper or electronically using an online petition platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A paper petition must include:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A clear statement of the subject matter and action requested<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A heading and brief summary on each page<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The total number of signatories<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The full name, address and signature of the person lodging the petition<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">An electronic petition must include:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A clear statement of the subject matter and action requested <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The total number of signatories <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The full name and address of the person lodging the petition, plus a statement certifying that the petition content has not been changed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All information relevant to the petition must appear on the petition itself \u2014 not in a covering letter. If you&#8217;re unsure whether your petition complies, contact Council before collecting signatures. A non-compliant petition may need to be re-signed by all signatories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gcc.assets.ionatahosting.net\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Petition-Example.pdf\">View an example paper petition here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Petitions requesting a public meeting<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If your petition seeks a public meeting, it must be signed by at least 1,000 registered electors in the Glenorchy municipal area and must specifically state that it requests a public meeting. Council will verify signatures against the electoral roll if required.
