If you are holding a public event or market on Council owned land (including parks, roads and facilities) you are required to get permission from Council by completing a\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/gcc.assets.ionatahosting.net\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Events-Event-on-Council-Land-Form.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Public Event on Council Land<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>application form or a\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/gcc.assets.ionatahosting.net\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Events-Market-on-Council-Land-Form.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Market on Council Land\u00a0<\/a><\/strong>application form. You will also need to provide a\u00a0<strong>Site Plan<\/strong>, a\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/gcc.assets.ionatahosting.net\/uploads\/2026\/07\/GCC-Risk-Assessment-community-2026website.docx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Risk Assessment<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and provide a copy of\u00a0<strong>public liability insurance<\/strong>\u00a0for $20M.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This helps us ensure your event is safe, well planned and enjoyable for everyone, while protecting our parks, reserves and public spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">To apply for a permit, you will need to provide:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A completed Event on Council Land or Market on Council Land form <em>(see forms below)<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A risk management plan <em>(see template below)<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Public liability insurance of $20 million<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A site plan showing:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the site<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the location and size of all structures including temporary structures (e.g. marquees, temporary stands, food vans and stalls)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>proposed car parking<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Smoke Free Management Plan (where required)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>toilet facilities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Depending on the size and nature of your event, you may be required to provide supporting documentation such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Traffic management or road closure plans<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Food vendor or other relevant permits<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For mass outdoor public events (over 1000 people for two hours or more), whether on Council or private property, you will need to complete a Place of Assembly form <em>(see form below).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We encourage organisers to submit their application as early as possible to allow enough time for assessment and any required approvals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When applying, please scroll down to see the forms and document resources needed to apply for an Event on Council Land or a Place of Assembly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have any questions or would like to discuss your event, our team is happy to assist.
