Council is responsible for maintaining nature strips, but in some areas residents help to keep them tidy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You must not:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Plant trees or shrubs on the nature strip without Council approval<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Place objects that block pedestrian access<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Damage any Council infrastructure (such as stormwater drains or signs)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Trees on private property<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You are responsible for trees on your private property. This includes keeping them trimmed so they do not overhang footpaths or cause a hazard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If a tree on your property is dangerous, you may need a permit to remove it.
