{"id":2097,"date":"2026-05-11T13:43:15","date_gmt":"2026-05-11T03:43:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gcc.clients.ionata.com.au\/?page_id=2097"},"modified":"2026-06-06T20:34:36","modified_gmt":"2026-06-06T10:34:36","slug":"exemptions","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.gcc.tas.gov.au\/zh\/for-residents\/rates\/exemptions\/","title":{"rendered":"\u8c41\u514d"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pensioner rates discounts<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The pensioner discount might be as much as 30% of your rates.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The claim the discount, your property must be your main home and you are legally responsible for the rates (that is, you can\u2019t claim the discount if the house is in someone else\u2019s name).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To be eligible for a discount, you need one of these valid cards on 1 July of the current year:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Centrelink or Department of Veterans\u2019 Affairs Pensioner Concession Card<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Centrelink Health Care Card<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Repatriation Health Card \u2018Gold Card\u2019, endorsed War Widow\/Widower or Total or Permanent Injury (TPI).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note: an Australian Government Seniors Health Card does not qualify the holder for a rates remission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To apply, come to our service desk at 374 Main Road, Glenorchy, fill in an Application for Pensioner Discount form at Council Chambers and show your card.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">General rates exemptions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We also offer general rates exemptions for properties used for charitable purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If your organisation is eligible for a general rates exemption, please let us know by completing a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gcc.assets.ionatahosting.net\/uploads\/2026\/05\/charitable-rates-exemption.pdf\">Charitable Rates Exemption form<\/a>\u00a0(PDF).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can submit your form via:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>email to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:gccmail@gcc.tas.gov.au\">gccmail@gcc.tas.gov.au<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>in person at our Customer Service Centre at Council Chambers, 374 Main Road, Glenorchy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>posting to Glenorchy City Council, PO Box 103, Glenorchy TAS 7010.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If your details change, please let us know as soon as possible.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note: we cannot change your details over the phone.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pensioner rates discounts The pensioner discount might be as much as 30% of your rates.&nbsp;
