Garage Sale Trail is Australia's biggest secondhand event, with around 300,000 people taking part each year.
It runs across two weekends in November, and anyone in Australia can join in — whether you’re hosting a garage sale, a car boot sale, a market, or a street party.
Why Get Involved?
Declutter your home, discover a bargain and give pre-loved items a second life with Garage Sale Trail.
Garage Sale Trail is coming to Glenorchy, with residents encouraged to get involved by hosting a sale or exploring the many garage sales and community sales happening across the city.
Taking place over 7–8 and 14–15 November 2026, Garage Sale Trail is a great opportunity to clear out unwanted items, make some extra money and help keep useful things in circulation.
Thinking about selling?
If you have items you no longer need, why not turn your clutter into cash?
Register your garage sale and give your unwanted furniture, clothing, books, toys, household goods and other treasures a chance to find a new home.
Hosting a sale is also a great way to meet your neighbours and be part of a community-wide effort to reduce waste and encourage reuse.
Registration is free and includes a listing on the national map — seen by over 500,000 people — plus how-to guides, promotional materials, and support from Council and the Garage Sale Trail team.
In 2024, the average household sale made $499, with community groups raising over $1,500.
No Garage? No Problem.
Team up with neighbours, friends, or family to host together, join an existing market near you, or organise a sale from your unit block. If you need any help, check out how we can support you.
