We have several facilities available for hire for all kinds of local events.
We have facilities for hire for community groups, teams and individuals. These include community halls, tennis courts and sports grounds.

Halls and Venues for Hire
- A bond of $500.00 & key deposit of $70.00 must be paid before the key is issued.
- If you are eligible for a waiver of hire fees please complete the Application for Waiver form
- All bookings must include the total time the hall is in use; including setup, pack-down, and any time equipment or furniture is occupying the hire space.

Holding your Event on Council Land
Fees
A fee will apply for your event application to be assessed.
“Event application fees” refers to general events. “Whole Park Fees” refers to Tolosa Park, Tolosa Street, Glenorchy.

Tolosa Park Huts
Opening Hours
Tolosa Park is open between 10:30 am – 4:00 pm during winter and 10:30 am – 8:00 pm during daylight savings.
All our huts, plus the Music Bowl and Criterium Circuit can be booked for private use.
Availability can be checked using the calendar below. Choose a date, and scroll left and right to see more huts.
To enquire about, and to make a booking, please contact Council’s Customer Service Centre on 03 6216 6800. Please note, payment must be made in full at the time the booking is made.
Bookings are not confirmed until payment is received.

Fees
As of September 2023, new fees apply for the booking the whole of Tolosa Park for exclusive use. Fees are as follows:
Commercial Event
- Major (1000+ people) – $3,465 (inc GST) per day (weekdays); $5,775 (inc GST) per day (weekend/public holiday); $3,150 bond and a non-refundable deposit of 10% of the total fee.
- Other (under 1000 people) – $1,732 (inc GST) per day (weekdays); $2,887 (inc GST) per day (weekend/public holiday); $1,575 bond and a non-refundable deposit of 10% of the total fee.
Community Event
- $1386 (inc GST) per day (weekdays); $2,887 (inc GST) per day (weekends/public holidays) $525 bond and a non-refundable deposit of 10% of the total fee.
Council staffing requirements for events are priced by quote (if applicable).

Music Bowl
To hire the Music Bowl, booking fees are as per standard hut booking fees which is $74.00.
If power is required an extra $21.00 will be charged.
The total fee (with electricity) would be $95.00
Criterium Circut
To hire the Criterium Circuit the fee is $139.00. This includes the Music Bowl, and Huts 15 & 16, and so they all must be available in order to book the Criterium Circuit.
Permits are required for events and marquees.
Tennis Courts
We have two tennis courts for hire:
- Montrose Tennis Courts (single external court with lighting available) – $8.00 per hour (day) / $12.00 per hour (night)
- Cadbury Tennis Courts (two external courts with no lighting available) – $8.00 per hour (day).

You can also hire out the tennis courts at Glenorchy City Tennis Club.
Off-peak (No lights)
Member Hire – Free + $5 for guests

Moonah Arts Centre
As well as our halls, the Moonah Arts Centre (MAC) has a range of purpose-built creative spaces designed for diverse arts and cultural activities. MAC welcomes proposals that use one or multiple spaces.
Presentation partnerships and long-term hires are also available by negotiation.

Berriedale Community Centre

The centre is available for training, meetings and corporate functions.
It has one meeting room with electric wall heating, and a kitchen equipped with a pie oven, fridge, urn and oven.
The centre has chairs and tables and is wheelchair accessible and can accommodate up to 60 people.

Chigwell Barn
10 BUCAAN STREET, CHIGWELL
The main hall has line markings for sport, and there is a separate meeting room with chairs and electric wall heating.
The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, oven, urn and pie oven.
The hall is fully accessible and can accommodate up to 170 people.

Claremont Hall
41 MAIN ROAD, CLAREMONT
The main hall has a stage area with curtains, ceiling heaters, chairs & trestle tables.
There is a foyer area where the toilets are situated.
The meeting room has electric heaters with tables and chairs.
The kitchen has a stove, urn and pie oven.
The hall can accommodate up to 190 people.

Collinsvale Hall
10 HALL ROAD, COLLINSVALE
The main hall is line marked, has tables and chairs.
The kitchen includes small oven, fridge, freezer and urn.
Please note there is no heating at this venue.
The hall can accommodate up to 260 people.

Moonah Arts Centre
23-27 Albert Road, Moonah
PERFORMANCE STUDIO
The Performance Studio at the Moonah Arts Centre in Lutruwita/Tasmania is a purpose-built facility designed to give local and visiting artists, presenters and educators an exceptional presentation experience in the vibrant and central location of Moonah.
Our flexible Performance Studio is perfect for concerts, theatre, film screenings, presentations and conferences.
CAPACITY
The Performance Studio space measures 9.6m x 17.6m (169m2).
With a 6m x 4m stage, the space can comfortably seat up to 130 people.
An unseated can accommodate up to 300 people.
FEES
For artists and arts organisation, we offer the space at a discounted rate of $220 (per day) inclusive of staging, seating, full audio system, lighting, and projection.
For business, government and other organisations, the day rate is $450 (per day) with the same inclusions.
We’re also pleased to offer a five-hour supported presentation package which includes Venue Manager, Duty Technician and Venue Hire at $924 for touring crews and $680 for performances and events developed in Tasmania.

Moonah Community Centre
7 GORMANSTON ROAD, MOONAH
The main hall is line marked, has seating and is equipped with electric heaters.
The kitchen includes a fridge, stove and pie oven.
There is also a reception room with chairs, trestle tables, a piano and electric heaters, and a committee room with chairs, tables, electric heaters and a small kitchenette.
The centre can accommodate up to 200 people.

Tolosa Street Hall

During bad weather events, Council staff may close sporting grounds for safety. Please check with your local sports club or association to confirm if games or training are taking place. We will update our Facebook page or this page to notify when closures occur. Council staff inspect all grounds before they are re-opened.
