Join the Derwent Estuary Program and Glenorchy City Council as we celebrate the completion of the Windermere Bay saltmarsh restoration project and officially open the new boardwalk and cultural trail.

Enjoy a morning of presentations, celebration and hands-on activities while learning about the environmental and community benefits of this important restoration project.

The program includes:

  • Welcome and introduction from Glenorchy City Council
  • Insights into the biodiversity benefits already being seen at the site
  • Official opening of the new boardwalk and cultural trail
  • Optional community planting along the saltmarsh edge
  • Light lunch following the planting session

📍 Where: Windermere Bay saltmarsh area (parking available at the foreshore car park off Cadbury Road)

📅 When: Wednesday, 8 July, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

  • Community planting: 10:30 am – 12:30 pm
  • Lunch: From 12:30 pm

What to bring
If you’d like to take part in the planting activity, please wear long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, enclosed shoes and a hat.

We’ll provide
All planting tools and gloves, plus water, tea, coffee and a light lunch.
