North Chigwell Oval is a community sports ground in the northern suburbs.
Situated near Berriedale and within easy reach of families across Chigwell and surrounding areas.
In recent years the oval has been earmarked as a junior football hub for the northern suburbs, with Football Tasmania estimating that planned upgrades would benefit up to 800 junior players and provide a modern training and playing hub for the area. The Northern Suburbs Junior Soccer Association has also established a junior soccer hub at the ground, and the oval received $12.8 million in Federal Government funding for the establishment of the junior football hub and a new clubhouse.
The Metro Football Club’s president noted that consolidating junior games at a single oval would make it easier for families with multiple children playing sport to watch them all in the one place.
