What does the Partnership do?

The Greater Hobart Strategic Partnership brings together the four Greater Hobart councils — Glenorchy, Hobart, Clarence and Kingborough — to collaborate on regional opportunities, shared challenges and long-term strategic planning.

The Partnership supports a coordinated approach to issues that affect the Greater Hobart region and its growing population.

What does the Partnership do?

Through the Greater Hobart Strategic Partnership, the four councils work together to:

• Develop shared strategies and regional priorities
• Coordinate advocacy to state and federal governments
• Share resources, expertise and research
• Support integrated planning and service delivery across the region
• Address regional challenges through collaborative action

The Partnership helps strengthen Greater Hobart’s ability to plan for future growth, attract investment and deliver improved outcomes for communities across the region.

Current priorities

The Partnership focuses on a range of strategic regional issues, including:

• Regional transport and infrastructure
• Housing supply and affordability
• Environmental sustainability and climate resilience
• Economic development and investment
• Liveability and community wellbeing
• Strategic land use and urban growth planning

Regional Collaboration

By working together, the Greater Hobart councils can advocate with a stronger collective voice and pursue opportunities that benefit the entire region while supporting the unique needs of each municipality.

The four councils jointly fund the role of the Executive Officer, Greater Hobart Strategic Partnership to support them to implement the Greater Hobart Act and Hobart City Deal.
