Glenorchy City Council is inviting the community to have their say on the potential disposal of three Council-owned properties in Austins Ferry, as part of its Statement of Commitment on Housing.
Community consultation is now open for properties at 261 Main Road, Baltonsborough Road and 84 Sunshine Road, Austins Ferry.
The properties are being investigated for their potential to support future housing development. Council is seeking community feedback to help inform the next steps in considering the potential disposal of each property.
Which properties are being considered?
The consultation covers three properties across two project pages on Let’s Talk Glenorchy.

Baltonsborough Road and 84 Sunshine Road, Austins Ferry
These adjoining properties comprise approximately 2,795 square metres of land, both zoned General Residential, and have been identified as having potential for future housing development.

The Baltonsborough Road and Sunshine Road project page includes a separate survey and quick poll for each property, allowing community members to provide feedback on the proposals individually.
What happens to your feedback?
Community feedback will help Council develop reports and recommendations on whether to proceed to the next stage of the disposal process for each property.
If Council decides to proceed, the next stage will involve the formal land disposal process under section 178 of the Local Government Act 1993. This includes statutory public notification and an opportunity for formal objections to be lodged in writing.
