Glenorchy City Council policies set out the rules and principles that guide how we make decisions and deliver services.

What are policies?

Policies are formal documents adopted by elected Aldermen. They help ensure Council acts consistently and fairly. Policies must align with relevant legislation and the Community Plan.

How policies are made

Policies are developed by Council staff and adopted by elected Aldermen at a Council meeting. Most new or revised policies are open for public comment before adoption.
