Glenorchy City Council operates within a legislative framework established by the Tasmanian Government.

Council by-laws

By-laws are local laws made by Council that apply within the Glenorchy municipality. They help regulate activities and protect community safety, amenity and public spaces.

Council by-laws must be approved by Council and the responsible Minister and are published in the Tasmanian Government Gazette.
