Glenorchy City Council is responsible for maintaining a wide range of community infrastructure, including roads, stormwater systems, buildings, parks and recreational facilities.
The community expects these assets to be safe, reliable and fit for purpose. To meet this, we set clear maintenance service levels that guide both planned (proactive) and responsive (reactive) works.
These service levels:
- Define when maintenance is required (intervention thresholds)
- Support safe access and use of infrastructure
- Help manage risks, including flooding and asset failure
We follow relevant legislation, industry standards and risk management practices.
The Tasmanian Local Government Road Hierarchy also informs how we design, manage and prioritise road and transport assets.
Our service level documents explain how we maintain our assets and the standards the community can expect over time.
