Cultural Celebration Grants 2024/2025 Program

The Cultural Celebrations Grants Program 2024/2025 has now closed.

Funded activities for 2024/2025 were:

  • Diwali Mela (All Indians Association)
  • Malanka – Ukrainian New Year (Association of Ukrainians)
  • HOLI Festival of Colours (Indian Festivals Association of Tasmania)
  • Pacific Island Voices (Australia Labour Mobility – PALM)
  • South Tennis ball Cricket Legends (Pakistani Australian Cultural Organisation)
  • Nepalese New Year 2082 (Nepali Society of Tasmania)

It is anticipated that the Cultural Celebrations Grants Program for 2025/2026 will open in July 2025.

Community Christmas Carols Grants

Glenorchy City Council offers a grants program to community organisations and groups to assist with Christmas carols celebrations throughout the municipality.

Funded events for 2024 were:

  • Austins Ferry Primary School Christmas Carols – 5 December
  • Rosetta Primary School Christmas Carols – 6 December
  • Claremont Baptist Church Intercultural Carols – 7 December
  • Moonah Multicultural Christmas Carols – 13 December
  • CWA Sunday Christmas Carols in Tolosa Park – 15 December
  • Hobart Mayali Christmas Celebrations at the MAC – 19 December
  • Variety Carols by Candlelight in Tolsa Park – 21 December

It is anticipated that the Community Christmas Carols Grants Program for events held in December 2025 will open in July 2025.

Sporting and Academic Fund

We provide support to residents in the City of Glenorchy through the Sporting and Academic Fund. Donations may be provided to individuals or groups/teams who are Glenorchy residents selected to represent their state nationally or their country internationally in significant sporting, academic, cultural or civic events or youth leadership development opportunities.
