The sports grounds we have available for casual or permanent hire are:
- KGV Sports and Community Precinct
- Ian “Jesse” James Oval
- North Chigwell Oval
- Abbotsfield Park
- Shoobridge Park
- Cadburys Oval
- Collinsvale Oval
- Prince Of Wales Bay
During bad weather events, Council staff may close sporting grounds for safety. Please check with your local sports club or association to confirm if games or training are taking place. We will update our Facebook page or this page to notify when closures occur. Council staff inspect all grounds before they are re-opened.
27 May 2026 – please note that due weather conditions, all Council sports fields (except KGV synthetic) are closed until further notice.
Update 29 May 2026: Please be advised of the following ground openings for matches this weekend:
Open today 29 May: North Chigwell, POW Bay, Eady Street, Abbotsfield Park and Cadbury ovals.
Open Sunday 31 May: KGV AFL.
Tennis courts
We have two tennis courts for hire:
- Montrose Tennis Courts (single external court with lighting available) – $7.20 per hour (day) / $11.90 per hour (night)
- Cadbury Tennis Courts (two external courts with no lighting available) – $7.20 per hour (day).

Glenorchy City Tennis Club
You can also hire out the tennis courts at Glenorchy City Tennis Club.

Member Hire – Free + $5 for guests
Public Hire – $20 per hour
Peak (Lights required)
Member Hire – $10 per hour + $5 for guests
Public Hire – $30 per hour
