Glenorchy City Council cares about your safety and creating a kind and welcoming community, where every person – regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity or expression – feels safe, seen and supported.
In March 2026, Council unanimously endorsed a Statement of Commitment to LGBTIQA+ Inclusion, which sets out council’s goals for LGBTIQA+ Inclusion in our community. This Statement was developed through extensive community consultation and guided by a group of local LGBTIQA+ community members. A Five-Year Action Plan was also developed to support these goals based on consultation results.
Council officers will work with local LGBTIQA+ organisations to carry out activities and events to support this Action Plan.
