We are committed to creating a city where everyone feels safe, respected and valued.

At Glenorchy City Council, we are committed to creating a city where everyone feels safe, respected and valued.

We believe diversity strengthens our community, and that every person—regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression—should be able to live openly, authentically and free from discrimination.

A Safe and Inclusive City for All

We are committed to building a city where LGBTIQA+ people feel welcome in public spaces, workplaces, schools and community settings. We will work to ensure our services, facilities and programs promote safety, dignity, wellbeing and inclusion for everyone.

A Vibrant, Visible and Connected Community

We celebrate the diversity, culture and contributions of LGBTIQA+ people in Glenorchy. Through inclusive events, community initiatives, public spaces and cultural activities, we will support opportunities for connection, participation and belonging.

We want LGBTIQA+ people of all ages to feel visible, valued and empowered to help shape the future of our city.

Supportive Services and Equal Opportunities

We are committed to improving access to services and opportunities for LGBTIQA+ communities. Through advocacy, partnerships and inclusive practices, we will work to remove barriers and promote greater representation in leadership, business and decision-making.

Our goal is to create a community where LGBTIQA+ people not only belong, but thrive.

A Workplace of Choice

Glenorchy City Council strives to be an inclusive and supportive employer. We are committed to fostering a workplace culture where LGBTIQA+ employees feel safe, respected and supported.

Through inclusive policies, professional development opportunities and a culture of belonging, we will ensure LGBTIQA+ staff are represented, heard and celebrated across our organisation.

Working Together

Together, we can create a city where diversity is embraced, inclusion is embedded in everyday life, and pride is not just celebrated—it is lived.
