In this friendly and engaging workshop, young artists will be shown how to create their own colourful Kolam artwork – a beautiful, ancient artform which holds significant cultural importance for South India.
Led by artist Haritha Velassini, participants will be guided through the process of outlining an intricate Kolam design in pencil, before choosing their own colour scheme to complete the design using painting techniques.
They will be shown how to mix colours and use the drawing and painting techniques unique to the Kolam artform.
This is a chance to connect with a beautiful cultural tradition, learn new skills and create a colourful Kolam artwork to take home.
