Glenorchy City Council (GCC) is committed to supporting young people through a range of youth engagement programs designed to build confidence, strengthen community connections and create positive pathways for the future.
By working alongside schools, community organisations and support services, GCC delivers inclusive programs that encourage creativity, wellbeing, leadership and participation.
These initiatives provide safe and supportive spaces where young people can develop social skills, explore their interests and access the support they need to thrive.
Through workshops, events and collaborative activities, GCC aims to empower young people, promote resilience and foster a strong sense of belonging within the community.

Creative Spark is a creative engagement program for Grade 7 and 8 students (12 to 15 years old) at Montrose Bay High and Cosgrove High.
Through weekly hands-on workshops, guided discussions and interactive activities, the program provides a safe and supportive space for young people to build confidence, strengthen social connections and develop important life skills.
The program aims to increase school engagement, reduce stress and support harm reduction by discouraging risk-taking behaviours associated with alcohol and other drugs.
Using creativity as a relatable and engaging pathway, Creative Spark helps connect young people with support services while raising awareness of the help available to them.
Creative Spark is delivered in partnership with Pulse Youth Health and Lifeline Tasmania, and is proudly funded by the Alcohol and Drug Foundation.
