Footpath renewal – Karambi Street, Chigwell

29 April 2024 - 31 July 2024

Glenorchy City Council will be renewing footpaths on Karambi Street as a part of the annual Capital Works program.

Both street sides will receive a new footpath and kerb & channel.

Please be advised that the construction time will be approximately until the end of July 2024, weather permitting.

Working hours are between the hours of 7:30 am to 4:30pm on weekdays.

Council apologises for the inconvenience this may cause during this time and requests all motorists and pedestrians obey all speed and advisory signs.

Hours of Disruption: 7:30 am - 4:30 pm

Disruption Type: Temporary traffic management directions may be placed in your area for the safety of workers. Please follow all signs and navigate the area safely.

Berriedale Foreshore Reserve Pathway Upgrade Works

15 April 2024 - 26 June 2024

As a part of Glenorchy City Council’s annual capital works program, the pathway upgrade works at the Berriedale Foreshore Reserve will start on Monday 15th April.

For safety reasons, some of thecarpark area will be temporarily removed to allow for site establishment, container and amenities.

Construction works will be carried out in stages therefore sections of pathways will be closed at the reserve.

Please be advised that the construction time will be approximately 8 weeks between the hours of 7:30 am to 4:30pm on weekdays.

Council apologises for the inconvenience this may cause during this time and requests all pedestrians and reserve users to obey any advisory signs.

Disruption Type: Pathway Renewal Works - Capital Works

Road Resurfacing – Lampton Avenue and Howard Road

14 April 2024 - 29 April 2024

Council will be carrying out nightworks from Sunday 14th April 2024, for approximately 2 weeks.

These works will be completed between 6.00pm – 6.00am, weather permitting.

There will be intermittent partial / full road closures on Lampton Avenue, from Main Road to the Brooker Highway with delays of up to 15 minutes.

There will be intermittent partial / full road closures on Howard Road, between Lampton Avenue and the Showground entrance, with delays of up to 15 minutes.

Council apologises for the inconvenience this may cause during this time.

All motorists and pedestrians are reminded to obey all speed and advisory signs and use alternative /detour routes where possible during work hours.

Humphreys Rivulet Wall and Creek Bed Remediation

8 April 2024 - 30 April 2024

As a part of the annual capital works program, Glenorchy City Council will be carrying out remediation works at Humphreys Rivulet Reserve, near Murrayfield Court.

These works will start within the next week.

For safety reasons, some on-street parking at Murrayfield Court will be temporarily removed to allow for the construction works.

The laneway and footpaths will be closed during construction.

Please be advised that the construction time will be approximately 4 weeks between the hours of 7:30 am to 4:30pm on weekdays.

Road Reconstruction – Renfrew Circle, Goodwood

8 April 2024 - 1 September 2024

Glenorchy City Council is reconstructing the footpath, kerb & channel, stormwater connections on Renfrew Circle, Goodwood.

Traffic management will be in place, with temporary road closures and reduced speed limits throughout the works.

We acknowledge that this might be inconvenient for users at times, however we are working to improve the street and ask for your co-operation and patience.

Please follow available signage and traffic controllers directions when passing the work site.

Kelvin Avenue – Road reconstruction and Stormwater Upgrade Works

15 January 2024 - 13 May 2024

On behalf of Glenorchy City Council, State-Wide Earthworks will be commencing road reconstruction and stormwater upgrade works at Kelvin Avenue. These works are scheduled to begin on the week commencing 15th January 2024 for approximately 12 weeks, weather permitting.

There will be parking restrictions and limited access to residents. No disruptions expected for pedestrians accessing Creek Road via Kelvin Avenue.

Hours of work: Between 7am – 6pm, Monday to Friday. No works scheduled for weekends and public holidays

Road Reconstruction Project – West Moonah

1 October 2023 - 30 June 2024

Road reconstruction with footpath, kerb & channel, stormwater connections and driveway renewal works will take place on Ashbourne Grove, West Moonah.

Reduced speed limits apply.

Footpath and Road Renewal Program – Chigwell

1 August 2023 - 30 April 2024

Footpath and kerb & channel replacement works will take place in Arunta Crs from Boondar to Karambi Street and Karloo Crt during the next months.

At the end of the works both streets will be resealed and receive a new asphalt wearing course.

Reduced speed limits and local detours apply depended on the construction stage.

We acknowledge that this might be of convenience at times, however we are working to improve your street and ask for your co-operation and patience.

Disruption Type: Footpath, kerb and reseal works

TasWater’s District Metered Area Project

31 October 2022 - 30 June 2024

TasWater will be accessing above ground water meters or underground water line pits to install new flow meters.

These meters will be rolled out across the municipality in various areas over the next few months.

A 3.25m high pole will be installed to provide power for the meter and logger, which is similar in size to a traffic light pole.

Some works will be completed overnight in larger residential or business districts.

If any works impact short term access to your property via the driveway, TasWater’s contractor will discuss this with directly by door knocking when works are about to commence.
