We offer an informative Waste Education program for local schools, community groups and businesses.
The aim of this program is to educate students, teachers, residents and business operators on the importance and benefits of recycling and reuse, as well as educating the community on the impacts of littering.
The program can be individually tailored to suit the needs of the audience.
We also have a large hands-on model of a landfill for schools to borrow at no cost. This model comes with a number of lesson plans, or teachers can create their own based on classroom educational goals.
Group tours of the Jackson Street Landfill or the Materials Recovery Facility (recyclables facility at Derwent Park) may also be possible on request.
