The Glenorchy City Council will discuss tenders to repair and refurbish the Glenorchy War Memorial Pool at its meeting on Monday night.
Council chief executive officer Tony McMullen said the council had received a number of tenders for the different components of the work, and these had now been assessed by a panel.
Mr McMullen said the discussions would be held in closed session due to the commercial-in-confidence nature of the tenders, which was usual practice.
“Council is looking forward to appointing the successful tenderers as soon as possible so that works can proceed.
An announcement will only be possible once contracts have been negotiated and signed.”
Mr McMullen said the council would also be discussing expressions of interest received for the building on Main Road which formerly housed the Golden Years Club.
“Unfortunately, the club notified the council late last year that it had decided to wind up its operations due to dwindling membership. Council subsequently ran an EOI process for the lease of the building, and a number of submissions have been received,” he said.
The expressions of interest will also be discussed in the closed part of the meeting due to the commercial-in-confidence information contained within the submissions.
The council will advise ratepayers and the public of the decision once a preferred lessee is identified.
