We are committed to providing an accessible and inclusive community where people of all ages and abilities are not isolated or excluded from being able to reach their full potential. 

We want everyone who visits the Glenorchy City Council Council website to feel welcome.

What are we doing?

To help us make the Glenorchy City Council Council website a positive place for everyone, we’ve been using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and user friendly for everyone.

  • At the bottom right hand side of every webpage, we have our UserWay Web Accessbility Widget.
  • Click the round orange symbol, and select “bigger text”

Chrome

  • In the menu to the right of the address bar, select and set Zoom level. Menu > Zoom > +

Firefox

  • In the View menu, select Zoom. View > Zoom > Zoom In

Internet Explorer

  • In the View menu, select Text Size. View > Text Size > Largest

Safari

  • In the View menu, select Zoom In. View > Zoom In

Opening documents

By default Word and PDF documents will open within the internet browser. If you wish to open a document in its native application select the File menu or look for options to save a copy or open in Word. See the following examples.

Request an alternate format by email

If you require a document in an alternate format, such as Microsoft Word or Rich Text Format (RTF), contact us and let us know which document you require.

Mobile access

PDFs can be displayed in PDF viewers such as iBooks on the iPad.

PDF forms require specific apps such as the free Adobe Reader app for iPad or Android. Complex forms require more advanced apps such as PDF Expert for the iPad.

How are we doing?
