🌄 If you like exploring quiet, magical places around Hobart, then this event is for you! Conservation Volunteers Australia be finally planting at the Lauderdale saltmarsh, and transform the weedy batter area of the former tip into a haven for wildlife!
Volunteers will aim to put 50 plants into hard ground and take our time with this task to ensure they give the plants the best start in life. Once established, the groundcovers, trees and shrubs will provide a much needed cover and shelter for birds, and provide food for native mammals and invertebrates.
In this area which is part of the land of the Mumirimina people, you can observe lots of local saltmarsh species that are not only beautiful, but have a strong bush tucker and bush medicine significance.
