🌻 Join Conservation Volunteers Australia (CVA) for a Working Bee at Whitestone Point and Gould’s Lagoon and be part of transforming these sites into a haven for local wildlife!
🌱 Both Whitestone Point and Gould’s Lagoon are regular planting sites for CVA, and they’re coming back to look after plantings, making sure they’re thriving.
Enter Whitestone Drive from Main Road and find an unlocked gate on the left hand side (just before Steeline Roofing). You are welcome to drive in and park here. Volunteers will meet at 10:00 am and walk to the site together. Coordinates: -42.7714445, 147.2516224
At Whitestone Point, volunteers will be watering, weeding and resetting guards. Afterwards, join crews at Gould’s Lagoon (5 min walk away) where they’ll use wheelbarrows to place mulch around plantings, which keeps weeds down and helps retain soil moisture. Check on plants and remove weeds inside tree guards.
Be part of a fun, casual event, and restore habitat along the timtumili minanya (Derwent River) with your own hands!
👖***Please note we require all participants to wear long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, fully enclosed shoes and a hat.***
