Performers:

The Drift Kings:

The Drift Kings is a project where, while you play the hit video game Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the band performs the soundtrack live for your entertainment. With music from a range of styles from jazz and groove, to rock and disco. Helmed by Olly Mitchell on saxophone, the Drift Kings are Anson Young on the sampler, Jode Brewster on piano, Kade Renshaw on bass, and Luke Vavoulas on kit. Come along to play, or simply listen to a gig like no other in Nipaluna.

Raspberry Terrapin:

Raspberry Terrapin is a young trio making dreamy, folk-adjacent music that touches on themes of nature, adolescence, time, and love. Their music features intimate three-part harmonies and ambient, warm guitar tones to build full and immersive soundscapes. The three have played all throughout the greater Hobart area over the last two years, from playing covers at cafes, to fully original sets during festivals such as Cygnet Folk Festival and Dark Mofo.

Warren Mason:

Warren’s music is a reflection of who he is and where he comes from. Healing past injustices is what Warren’s music is about. Warren sees music as a strong and powerful story telling tool. Being a self-taught singer songwriter he sees this as a great benefit to how the stories he shares come from his own sense of being in this world. He feels privileged and honoured to have the opportunity to share

story through music to a wide spectrum of communities throughout this country telling stories of and about him and his peoples.

Svetaccord:

“Svetaccord’s kaleidoscopic array of old-world, post-punk, retro-continental, and cinematic soundtracks really bring the room to life!”

Tasha Zappala:

Singer-Songwriter and researcher Tasha Zappala crafts poetic and nature-inspired music. Originally from North Queensland and now based in Lutruwita, her performances are an exploration of sound and site, influenced by her work with field recordings and environmental sounds

Willow Nischler:

Inspired by post punk luminaries such as Joy Division, the Cure and Siouxsie and the Banshees, nipaluna artist Willow Nischler first picked up a guitar in 2022 and proceeded to write the songs that had seemed to inhabit her mind for as long as she can remember. Since then Willow has found inspiration from female artists including Kathleen Hanna, Stevie Nicks and Cathy Diver.

Whilst not easily pigeon-holed, at a push Willow’s music could be described as postpunk wrapped up in a cloak of alt-folk.
