Lutana Woodlands Clean-up
10am, Sunday 7 April 2019
The Lutana Woodlands Group and Glenorchy City Council are organising a ‘Woodlands clean-up’ on Sunday 7 April to remove dumped rubbish and garden clippings from Lutana Woodlands Reserve. This material is unsightly and due to the outbreak of weeds, is also an ongoing threat to the native flora of the reserve, including rare orchid species.
Volunteers are needed to help with the cleanup. If you can spare a couple of hours to help improve your local reserve then come and join us.
Please bring a water bottle, and wear sturdy shoes and sun protection. Gloves and rubbish bags will be provided. Meet at the Lutana Woodlands Reserve picnic shelter off Bowen Road at 10am Sunday 7 April.
The Lutana Woodlands Group is made up of residents interested in protecting the natural values of the Lutana Woodlands Reserve. They are supported by Glenorchy City Council to undertake environmental volunteering activities throughout the year including removal of invasive weeds, clean-ups, tree planting and assisting with reserve upkeep.
