Glenorchy Carols - A Not So Silent Night

Glenorchy City Council’s Not So Silent Carols is set to rock Tolosa Park on Saturday 9 December.

Download your singalong book on to your device to bring with you.

936 ABC Hobart’s Ryk Goddard will be host for the evening. Fifteen acts will be performing, made up of schools and community and professional singers. One hundred children will perform in the combined school choir. A community parade will take place before the performers start with one minutes silence as the sun goes down.

This year’s line-up of performers includes a combined school choir, local band the Bootleg Gin Sluggers, the Tasmanian Song Company, the Glenorchy City Concert Brass band, and Group Noise - just to name a few. You can also follow us on Facebook

There are several other activities happening on the night to entertain patrons all ages.

Holiday Village

In the Holiday Village everyone is an artist, joined by a common aspiration to live passionately and creatively. This is where kids and their families can be inspired, reinvigorated and re-energised. Activities include mask-making, card making and lantern and making.

Sporting Fields

Run, jump and have fun! On the Sporting Fields kids and families can kick/pitch a ball with local teams or have a go at riding a crazy bicycle (a psych-le!).

Way Finders

The Way Finders are the smiling faces of the event – they will be around the site to help people find their way to the activities, performances, facilities and car park.

One gate will be open from 6pm for admission to the event, so arrive early. There is limited parking available around the site. Food and drinks will be available to purchase or patrons can bring their own.

Patrons can buy candles from the Lions marquee for a donation. Song books will be digital this year and can be download prior to the event from Moonah Arts Centre. This is a smoke and alcohol free event.

Glenorchy Carols 2017 is proudly supported by; Glenorchy City Council, Moonah Arts Centre, YMCA, Commonwealth Bank, ABC Radio Hobart, Nyrstar, Glenorchy Cricket Club, Milo T20 Blast and Glenorchy Gazette.
